In conjunction with this year's Morley Literature Festival, Morley Chamber of Trade and Commerce will be hosting a 2-day continental street festival.
Queen Street will come alive with a range of market stalls selling food and drink from across Europe, including a French bakery and crepes, Spanish paella, German sausages, Swiss cheeses and Turkish delights. Non-food produce will include pashmina, watches and clothes from Italy, fashion jewellery, hats and scarves from Paris and crafts all the way from Morocco.
The event will take place on Friday 11th (9am until late) and Saturday 12th October (9am until 4pm) and will include live music and street entertainment. The festival would be a great opportunity for any established retailers or food and drink outlets within the town centre to take advantage of the additional footfall this event will attract. Why not go all continental with themed window displays and late night opening?
Morley town centre plays host to four street festivals each year including the ever popular St George's Day, Ee By Gum Fest, Morley Literature Festival and Christmas Market. These events grow in popularity bringing a new audience into Morley, encouraging locals and visitors to spend time in our heritage town.
Morley Chamber of Trade and Commerce work hard to theme each festival and are consulting with local people, retailers and businesses to strengthen Morley's offer of becoming a destination for retail and leisure. We would welcome any new ideas to develop these events. Please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org
